What are your ambitions for 2010?
As a result of winning the European Formula Le Mans Championship in 2009 I was rewarded with a LMP1 test from Oreca. This was a fantastic experience I enjoyed a lot and I showed my abilities to the engineers lapping quick and consistent times. After several positive responses I'm using this progress for my potential professional career in Sportscars.
My ambition for 2010 is to find a competitive drive - with the right support - in LMP1/2 for the LMS and drive my first Le Mans 24 Hours. I'm considering GT championships too. ( Article LMP1 test Oreca & Testimonial Hugues de CHAUNAC)
Who is your favourite driver?
Michael Schumacher. During his successful career I always admired his determination, motivation & professionalism - not only on the track but as well as outside the circuit. He is definitely a perfect example for us young drivers.
Which is/are your favourite track(s)?
Well, I actually have two favourite tracks: The first one is Spa-Francorchamps, my home circuit, and the second one is the Sachsenring located in Germany.
What do you do in your free time?
My ambition is to have the best possible preparation for the races. Therefore, you have to work very hard every day. Thanks to my personal trainer Lieven Maesschalck I have best the person to be in top physical and mental shape for my sport. A big passion is still Karting. I enjoy my time to work as a coach of the two young and talented drivers of JB Motorsport’s junior program. Once I find some free time - I love to spend it with my closest friends.
Testimonials
"Dear All,
I know very well Nico since last year, when he was in Formula Le Mans Cup. I couldn't
dodge him because he won the championship. He did a very good job throughout the season
and scored loads of wins and podium finishes.
Thanks to his great season we offered him a test in our LMPI car the "ORECA 01''. To be
honest we were quite impressed by his test. He had a very good feedback with our Track
Engineer and with our official driver Nicolas Lapierre. He adapted itself very quickly to this
new environment and was pretty quick for a first test.
Throughout the day he has proven that after a good season in prototype he is definitely
ready for a move up in the premier category LMP 1.
I think Nico has a great future in motorsport and especially in sports car racing.
Kind regards"

"I discovered Nico's racing talent when he was 14 yrs old. Being convinced of his driving skills & sawing his potential to drive in F1 in the future, I made sure that he joined my karting team. Looking back - a valuable investment."
